A father of a Marine killed in Iraq calls Ziva, who is on maternity leave, and informs her that there was a suicide bombing at the base where her son was serving.
At a White House press conference, President David Palmer (D.B. Sweeney) is questioned by reporters about the Marine and his death. Palmer insists that the bombing was not an act of terrorism, even though he knows otherwise. When the reporters refuse to believe Palmer, he gives them access to classified intelligence information which proves that the Marine's death was the result of an al-Qaeda terrorist attack.
Later that night, Tony and Ziva call each other to discuss the report, as they had been left out of the loop on the investigation. Their argument about whether Ziva should return to work and carry on with her duties causes Tony to angrily state that if it had been his son that had died, he would have demanded answers. After the argument, Tony drives Ziva home, where she confesses to having killed Mossad agent Meir Ben-Gur, 0b46394aab
